Derek & Bethany

It was a beautiful, sunshiny, HOT day in June!

But before I begin to tell you about the day, you have to know something.

The groom, Derek, BUILT this amazing arbour for their wedding day, and it now resides in their yard. Isn't that the neatest thing??

So when they have their little romantic evenings in the back yard, they'll have a constant reminder of their first kiss that sealed their promise of forever.

So, here's Derek getting ready in the room with the guys

and Bethany getting ready in the room with all the girls

don't you just LOVE the detail on her gown?

So, Bethany is all ready to go, and always ahead of schedule as she is, sits and waits for the ceremony time.

okay, I'm just kidding.

You KNOW everyone was surprised that she had her makeup on and ready. right? it was a special day. Of course she wouldn't put her makeup on while walking down the aisle!!

I took them both outside for a quick portrait. At different times of course.

They look ready and most importantly, full of hope that their wedding day was going to be beautiful!

The girls lined up, ready to go down the aisle, and the flower girl decided that the basket was NOT a cool idea. We had to pluck the flowers from it so she could hold a little tiny boquet, much like the big girls!

The ceremony went well, as expected.

There's something so very sweet and indescribable when a true relationship with God is acknowledged in the midst of their courtship and vows.

You know what else was really neat? Bethany's uncle performed the marriage ceremony of her mother and father, AND her grandparents. And they're all still married!

Off to the reception! Time to celebrate!

First, the special dances...

And then Derek was gonna groove some tunes of his own. Derek. Derek!! oh. he can't hear with the headphones on. His music must be loud.

And the girls were groovin to their own tunes.

This is always a really neat thing for me. I love seeing past brides at weddings.

Here's Amy (above) and Jenise. (below)

Here's Bethany being the best Aunt Bethany she can be. Amy's little man is so precious!

And a kiss goodnight!

Thank you so much for having me! It was a blessing to be a part of your special day!

Elizabeth & Matt

It was a beautiful, sunny day on Saturday.
Perfect for a wedding on the Gulf.

I got there plenty early enough - even before Matt arrived.
He's cool in his shades.

...and then the guests started to arrive.

This particular little girl, as adorable as she looked,

had a little secret...

oops. I don't think she wants anyone to know.

Anyway. Back to our wedding.
Matt, in his finery, awaiting his bride.

There's more in the slideshow. you'll have to watch to fill in the blanks. Click here to go see it. Wait. Read the rest of this post first, then go see it!

They said their "I do's," and then off to celebrate.
Thumbs up, Matt! You done good!

Now, I'm not saying this is what Matt was REALLY thinking, but it was one of MY favorite memories of the day.

"oh. wow. I ... did ... it ..."

"I REALLY did do this!"

"yeah, baby! I DID IT!!"

Is this a FINE looking couple, or what?

And then we went to the reception at Edgewater, and they had their first dance...

And their first meal as husband and wife...

And their first cake smashing...wait. see that white blob under Matt's tuxedo shirt cuff? It looks like Elizabeth has successfully thwarted Matt's attempt. No first cake smashing after all.

Okay, what's wrong with this picture? During the garter toss, the men usually come reluctantly, as if the outcome of this little tradition will effect the rest of their night. Or life. I dunno. Anyway, not ONE of them with their hands ready to grasp the garter which was flung in their direction!

Now the GIRLS, on the other hand. They're ready. One of the bridesmaids not only caught the boquet, but was showered with rose petals as a reward for her good catch.

Matt, desiring a moment alone with his beauty, stepped outside with Elizabeth. (with me looking on, of course.)

And the end of the night.

Well, almost. All I'm saying is that Elizabeth is going to GET you groomsmen when she gets home from Jamaica! You guys might want to start thinking of ways to kiss up to her now.

Happy honeymoon, Matt & Elizabeth. and a very happy life!
